On January 8,
2014 the Director of the Argentine School of Soccer Coaching (ATFA), Mr.
Victorio Cocco, visiting the US to initiate exchange programs with the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America, made a special presentation to the local
soccer coaches and trainers regarding FIFA’s mandate to improve the quality and
level of coaching education.
The
conference was held at the International Soccer Training Center/ Holiday
INN/Kics International facility in Sunrise Florida.
Mr. Cocco a very
successful former pro-player with San Lorenzo de Almagro (Pope Francisco’s,
team) Boca Jrs, River Plate and other teams in Buenos Aires and also a former
Argentine National team player impressed the large audience with his profound
knowledge and practical approach to teaching soccer fundamentals. He also
discussed the details of the different educational programs that AFTA offers to
train soccer coaches at the highest level of the game required by FIFA.
The evening
was closed by a presentation by Mr. Juan Cruz Real, ATFA representative in
North America on the several AFTA on-line
programs available for local coaches. The e-learning methodology used by ATFA
allows coaches to complete the FIFA “A” level of education at their convenience,
without the need to travel to attend classes. The ATFA e course can be taken
either in Spanish or English.
